In short

Deep-cleaned to the core, dry before bedtime.

Professional mattress cleaning in Auckland — high-heat hot-water extraction (up to ~120°C at the machine) lifts dust mites, allergens and sweat, usually dry before bedtime. Commonly called steam cleaning, it's heat, controlled moisture and strong suction working together — deep-cleaning single, queen, king and pillow-top mattresses without soaking them. IICRC-trained and owner-operated since 2012, we clean mattresses across Auckland — West Auckland, Henderson, Te Atatū, Glen Eden, New Lynn, the North Shore and Central — an honest price by size, before we start.

Why the mattress matters most

You spend a third of your life on this one surface.

It quietly collects years of sweat, dead skin and the dust mites that live on it — and the allergy and asthma trigger is their droppings, right where you breathe for eight hours a night.

  • Dust mites & their allergen
  • Sweat & dead skin
  • Years of quiet build-up

Dust mites can't survive above about 55–60°C. Our machine heats to 120°C and we work to roughly 70–90°C at a mattress surface — a range from experience rather than a lab, and set for the fabric in front of us rather than the same on everything. Either way it clears the threshold where it matters, at the surface, so the heat kills mites while the extraction lifts out the allergen they leave behind. Independent peer-reviewed studies — Colloff 1995 and Yu 2008 — show this method removes most dust-mite allergen from carpet; the same heat and extraction helps clear dust mites, allergens and embedded soil from a mattress too, though how much depends on the mattress and the build-up. Controlled moisture means it's usually dry before bedtime — real heat and suction, not a chemical fog.

The cleanest place to rest your head — for everyone who sleeps there.

What a mattress clean includes

A real reset, not a spritz.

Same honest method as everything we do — a straight read first, the clean tuned to your mattress, and no surprises.

  • Pro-grade hot-water extraction — our LPG system produces up to 120°C and 600 PSI continuously at the machine, dialled right down to suit a mattress, so real heat does the deep work without over-wetting or stressing the fabric.
  • Focused on dust mites, allergens, sweat and body oils — a real reset, not a surface freshen.
  • Controlled moisture — we never soak a mattress; dry before bedtime with a little airflow.
  • Safe on every mattress type — foam, spring, latex, hybrid and pillow-top — the method matched to yours, never forced.
  • Low-tox, pet- and kid-friendly pre-sprays — safe once dry — and a low-residue finish, so nothing harsh is left where you sleep.

Who else we do this for: The Quadrant Hotel & Suites, Parnell Inn and The Convent Hotel — Auckland hotels, where a mattress turns over every few days and there is nowhere to hide a mark. Same machine, same heat, same method we would bring to your bedroom.

The honest bit: a deep clean substantially reduces the dust mites, allergens, sweat and odour a mattress collects — but no clean keeps dust mites away for good (they return with everyday use), and how much lifts depends on the mattress and how long it's been. Deep-set stains and old discoloration may not fully lift. We give you a straight read before we start, not after.

Mattress cleaning · Proof, not promises

In our clients' own words.

I called apex cleaners very last minute the night before, and they were accomodating and let me book an appointment for a big cleaning job. The technician, Bobby, was punctual, fast, and efficient! My mattress looks brand new - old set in stains were removed! Bobby also cleaned the carpets of four bedrooms - they looks so clean and fresh it's unbelievable! The job was done quickly and to a high standard.

The team were flexible with timing and were there cheapest of the available options and did an absolutely fantastic job and we were able go sleep on the bed the next day. 100% would recommend. I have an off-white mattress and the team advised that with the treatment it may slightly discolour it but it doesnt appear to have done so. So happy with the results.

Thank you so much for an outstanding service. Bency responded promptly to my request, did everything he could to fit in with my busy schedule, arrived promptly and did a fantastic job. He shampooed and deodorised my carpets and removed stains from my mattress. He also went beyond the call of duty and did a complementary clean of a chair I had only enquired about. He cleaned it beautifully and didn't charge. I can fully recommend Apex carpet cleaning. Their customer service is excellent. Thank you Bency. Katrien

Ben arrived promptly spent some time sourcing hose tap & power access, placed plastic protectors to ensure no damage could occur to walls / corners while moving the equipment in to the house. Worked in a very professional manner (non stop) cleaning a massive rug & 3 piece suite. I am an independent customer, my daughter used their services & made the recommendation, you should consider using them, I would give them AAA+++ (my top rating) John Glen (New Windsor)

Good to know

Our machine heats to 120°C, and we work to somewhere around 70–90°C at a mattress surface — still well above the ~55–60°C dust mites can't survive. That range comes from experience rather than a laboratory, and it's set for the fabric in front of us — a wool carpet or an olefin pile gets run far cooler, because heat that's right for one fibre will damage another. Just as importantly, it lifts out the sweat and dead skin they feed on, so the population is knocked right back and survivors struggle to recolonise. Regular cleaning is what keeps it that way. One deep clean dramatically reduces them; nothing honestly sterilises a whole mattress, and we won't pretend otherwise.

It's dry before bedtime. We use controlled moisture — never a soaking — so with a little airflow (crack a window or run a fan) you sleep on it the same night. It takes a bit longer on a still, humid day with poor airflow.

Yes — our pre-sprays are low-tox and pet- and kid-friendly, safe once dry, and we finish low-residue, so there's nothing harsh left where you sleep. Heat does the real work, not a fog of chemicals. A deep steam clean for deep-sweat sleep.

Most mattresses do well with a professional clean every 6–12 months — sooner if someone has allergies or asthma, there are pets on the bed, or after a spill or illness. Regular cleaning stops sweat, dead skin and the dust mites that feed on them from building back up.

Often, yes — we treat the stain and the smell at the source with an enzyme pre-treatment, then flush it with high-heat extraction rather than masking it. We give you a straight read first: fresh marks lift best; older or previously DIY-treated stains may not fully clear, and we'll tell you before we start, not after.

Yes — we match the method to the mattress. Controlled moisture, never a soaking, so foam, spring, latex, hybrid and pillow-top mattresses are all cleaned safely and dried before bedtime. If a mattress has a care label or a delicate top, we work to it.

If you spend a third of your life on it, yes. A mattress quietly collects years of sweat, dead skin and the dust-mite allergen a vacuum can't reach — a deep high-heat clean — up to 120°C at the machine — resets the surface you breathe on for eight hours a night, and helps protect a mattress you'll want to keep for years.
