In short
Wet carpet, extracted and dried — carpet-first.
Flooded carpet in Auckland — we extract the water, then dry the structure to the IICRC S500 standard, with most carpet structurally dry in 3–5 days. Moisture-meter readings confirm it's dry underneath, not just on top. Owner-operated from Henderson since 2012 across 1,000+ jobs, we answer 7 days and are on site in 60 minutes to 4 hours, depending on urgency and availability.

What we do when water hits
Out fast, dried properly.
Every flood is different, but the method is the same — get the water out, dry it to the core, and save the carpet where we honestly can.
- Rapid extraction. We pull standing water out of the carpet and underlay fast with van-mounted extraction — the sooner it's out, the more we can save.
- Lift & assess. We check the underlay and subfloor and take moisture readings, then give you a straight call on what can be dried and saved versus what's better replaced.
- Structural drying. Air movers and dehumidifiers dry the carpet, underlay and floor properly — not just the surface — so you don't get mould or a lingering damp smell weeks later.
- Sanitise & deodorise. We treat the affected area to knock back bacteria and odour left behind by the water.
- Back to normal. Once it's dry and sanitised, any repairs, re-stretching or re-laying are arranged through our trusted trades — we stay your single point of contact, so the room comes back together without you chasing anyone.
The honest bit: not every carpet can be saved. If water's been sitting for days, or it's contaminated — sewage, or flood water off the ground — replacing it is the safe call, and we'll tell you straight rather than dry something that should go. And if this isn't an emergency — a hose let go, a cylinder failed, or a hire machine left the carpet sodden — wet carpet drying is the page you want, prices published.
Standing on a wet floor right now?
First aid, then call.
The first ten minutes are yours, and they change what we can save. Here's the order that matters — safety first, and that part isn't a formality.
- Power off before you step in it. If the wet area has outlets, appliances or floor heating, switch that circuit off at the board — not at the wall. If you can't reach the board without crossing the water, stay out and call an electrician.
- Stop the water at its source — the toilet isolation valve, the tap, or the main. Storm water coming in from outside you can't stop; go straight to the next step.
- Get furniture up off the wet carpet. Wooden legs bleed stain into wet pile and metal ones rust, and both marks outlive the flood. What you can't lift, slip foil or plastic under each foot — five seconds, saves a permanent ring.
- Lift what's easy, then stop. Rugs off the carpet, cardboard off the floor. Don't pull the carpet up yourself — it stretches and tears at the gripper, and makes the re-lay harder than it needed to be.
- Open windows and get air moving — that genuinely helps until proper equipment arrives. A heater in a closed room does not: it just moves the moisture into the walls and the air.
Never run a household vacuum over standing water. This is the one that can genuinely hurt you — a domestic vacuum isn't a wet vacuum, its motor sits in the airflow path, and pulling water through it can put mains voltage where your hand is. It will also destroy the machine. Wet extraction takes a machine built for it, and ours is in the van. Also skip the carpet shampoo — there's nothing to clean yet, only water to remove.
If it's sewage, a toilet overflow, or flood water off the ground — stay out of it entirely. Don't extract it, don't dry it, don't handle the carpet. That water carries what you'd expect it to carry, and it's a health job before it's a carpet job. Where the water came from decides almost everything about what happens next.
Then text or call, and tell us four things: where the water came from, roughly how long it's been sitting, how many rooms, and whether the power is off. That's what lets us load the right kit before we leave. The full first-ten-minutes guide is here.
Why call us
Local and fast beats a call centre.
With water, the response time is the job. A national franchise routes you through a queue; you get Bency and the ApexClean van, from Henderson, moving on it the same day.
- 24/7 emergency text line — text us the moment it happens, any hour, and we'll give you the first steps to limit the damage while we're on the way. Calls answered 7 days, after-hours for a genuine emergency.
- Carpet-first specialists — we clean and dry carpet every day, so saving yours is exactly our wheelhouse.
- One call handles the lot — we do the drying and sanitising ourselves and organise any repairs or re-laying through our trade contacts, so you're not left juggling contractors.
- Claiming on insurance? We give you clear before-and-after photos and a written record of the work for your claim.
Proof, not promises
In our clients' own words.
What it costs
Priced on the job, not guessed online.
Every flood is a different size, source and severity, so there's no honest fixed online price — we assess it on site and give you a clear figure before drying starts. In an emergency the priority is getting there and getting the water out; the numbers we sort straight after.
Good to know
Straight answers, when it matters most.
Often, yes — if we get to it fast. We extract the water and dry the carpet and underlay properly, and a lot of carpet comes back fine. But not always: if the water's been sitting for days, or it's contaminated — sewage, or flood water off the ground — replacing it is the safer call. We give you a straight read on the day rather than dry something that should really go.
With water, hours matter — so we move fast. We answer 7 days, including after-hours for a genuine emergency, and we'll give you the first steps to limit the damage while we're on our way. The sooner the water's out, the more of your carpet and home we can save.
If it's safe to: stop the water at the source, switch off power to any wet areas at the board, and lift furniture off the wet carpet — or slip foil or plastic under the legs so they don't stain or rust the pile. Lift what you easily can, but don't run a household vacuum over standing water. We'll talk you through it when you call.
We make the claim easy to back up. You'll get clear before-and-after photos and a written record of the work, so you've got what your insurer needs. You deal with the claim itself; we give you straight, tidy documentation to support it.
Our focus is getting the water out, drying and sanitising. Any repairs, re-stretching or re-laying we organise through trusted trades — so it's one point of contact and no runaround. We line it up; you don't have to chase anyone.
Most wet carpet can be dried in place — we extract the water first, then dry the structure with meters on it, and the carpet stays down. Lifting is a decision, not a default: it depends on the water source, how long it sat and what the underlay is doing. Underlay is the part that usually gets replaced, because it holds water the carpet above it has already given up. We give you that call on the day, with the readings, before any drying starts.
Three to five days for the structure, not the two to four hours a normal clean takes. Those are different jobs: a clean puts a controlled amount of water in and takes it straight back out, while a flood has already soaked the underlay, the subfloor and often the skirting. We meter it rather than guess — drying stops when the readings say it is dry, and the log is what your insurer wants to see.
You pay when the job's done — cash or card, on site, once we've walked it together and you're happy. No deposit to book. If you won't be there on the day, we settle it before we start instead: pay in advance or as we begin, and send the confirmation through. Credit cards carry a 2.4% surcharge; EFTPOS or debit skips it. Established business clients can arrange account terms in advance — just ask when you book.
If our work isn't right — a missed spot, or residue we've left behind — tell us within seven days and we'll come back and put it right. No debates. It covers our workmanship: not everyday re-soiling once life is back on the carpet, and not a mark we told you before we started was never going to lift. The easiest way to be sure is a quick walk-through with us before we leave, so anything missed is sorted on the spot.
