What we actually see in East Auckland

Howick was a garrison before it was a suburb

In 1847 the Royal New Zealand Fencibles — retired soldiers given a cottage and an acre in exchange for seven years' service — were posted here, and Howick was the largest of those settlements: 804 people by 1848. Between 1847 and 1854 eleven ships brought around 2,500 Fencibles and their families, very nearly doubling the population of Auckland. Some of that original village is still standing. The east has been lived in a long time, and the older streets around Howick and Pakuranga still carry houses with the floors to match.

And Flat Bush is the exact opposite end of the same region

Twenty minutes inland, Flat Bush now holds around 55,920 people and most of it has gone up this century — it took its name from the kahikatea forest that used to stand there. So the east runs the full span: 1840s cottages at one end, brand-new builds at the other, and everything in between full of families. Modern synthetic pile in a house with kids and a dog is a completely different problem to hundred-year-old wool, and it wants the machine set for what it is.

The gentle beaches — which does not mean no sand

Bucklands, Eastern Beach, Cockle Bay, Maraetai: these are Hauraki Gulf beaches, sheltered and calm where the west coast is wild. Lovely to live on, and it still ends up in the carpet. Sand does not stain — it wears, sitting at the base of the pile and grinding a little further in with every footstep. On a family carpet in a high-traffic house that is the thing quietly costing you years, long before anything looks dirty.

Ben arrived promptly spent some time sourcing hose tap & power access, placed plastic protectors to ensure no damage could occur to walls / corners while moving the equipment in to the house. Worked in a very professional manner (non stop) cleaning a massive rug & 3 piece suite. Very courteous and friendly service. Bency really wanted to please us and did a perfect clean then offered to do a large mat as well, which was not in his quoted price. We were delighted and of course insisted on paying him for the extra work. Overall his price was most reasonable anyway. We would definitely use this Company's services again and would sooner wait for them if necessary, rather than risk a lesser job with another operator. Well done!

FANTASTIC JOB! he was professional, fast and polite. Our dog had brought concrete tar into our home and there is no way to get it out! if it's on your clothes you need to throw them away so we just wanted it to look nicer. BUT he removed it all along with old pet pee stains, coffee stains and green stuff from our deck over the winter that made its way inside. I'll be hiring them again 10/10. thank you!
