Brickworks were here for a reason, and it is still under your floor

Joseph James Craig's Pottery and Brick Works was operating in Avondale by 1898, part of the same clay industry that ran all along the Whau. Nobody builds a brickworks on sand. That clay is still under the lawns and driveways here, and clay is the difficult kind of soil for carpet: sand sits on top of the pile and vacuums out, while clay works into the base of the fibre and sets there. It is the reason a rented machine lifts the surface colour and loses it again within a fortnight, and the reason our low-pH conditioning rinse exists.

A market suburb, and what that means for a hallway

The Avondale Sunday Market has run at the racecourse since the 1970s and is one of the largest regular markets in New Zealand. FANTASTIC JOB! he was professional, fast and polite. Our dog had brought concrete tar into our home and there is no way to get it out! if it's on your clothes you need to throw them away so we just wanted it to look nicer. BUT he removed it all along with old pet pee stains, coffee stains and green stuff from our deck over the winter that made its way inside. I'll be hiring them again 10/10. thank you!
