Carpet cleaning in Mount Albert.

Mount Albert is one of the suburbs we have worked in longest — carpet steam cleaning, mattresses, stain treatment, and flood work that needed the drying gear. It is built on and around Ōwairaka, a volcanic cone, and that shows up in the carpet: the soil here is dark basalt and scoria grit rather than the sticky clay we deal with further west, and it behaves completely differently under a vacuum.

On the ground in Central Auckland

Central is full of character — villas and bungalows with older wool carpet, stair runners and delicate piles that need fibre-matched heat, not a blast. Add the apartments and townhouses where a fast 2–4 hour dry actually matters, and a tuned, honest clean beats a one-setting machine every time.

What we actually see in Central Auckland

Scoria grit is sharp, and sharp is what wears carpet out

Ōwairaka is one of the volcanoes of the Auckland field, and the ground around it is basalt and scoria rather than the heavy clay of West Auckland. Clay stains and smears; scoria grit cuts. It is angular, it works its way to the base of the pile, and every footstep after that is sandpaper on the fibre. You cannot see it — the carpet just goes flat and dull in the traffic lanes and nobody knows why. It comes out with a proper dry vacuum before any water goes down, which is the step most cleans skip.

Villas, bungalows and state houses — old floors under the carpet

Mount Albert grew early and then again after the war, so the streets run villa and bungalow next to solid post-war housing. Underneath a lot of that carpet is original tongue-and-groove timber, old underlay, and gaps. It matters because over-wetting an old timber floor is a genuinely expensive mistake, and it is the reason we run a van-mounted machine with real extraction rather than a portable that leaves the water behind. Carpet can absolutely be overwet, and the houses here are exactly where it happens.

Carpet, mattresses, and the night the water came in

Mount Albert is one of the suburbs we keep going back to — carpet steam cleaning, mattress cleaning, stain work, the ordinary run of it. The job that tells you most, though, was a flood, because it means the extraction and drying gear has been through these houses under pressure, not just for a tidy-up. We cover Mount Albert daily, and if it is urgent we can often be there within hours — phone and ask what is left today.

Great service and communication from Ben. Sent website enquiry on Wednesday, quote (with options, a recommendation and reasons) back later that night, cleaning arranged for next day. Could not have asked for better service (and the carpet looks great)

Ben arrived promptly spent some time sourcing hose tap & power access, placed plastic protectors to ensure no damage could occur to walls / corners while moving the equipment in to the house. Worked in a very professional manner (non stop) cleaning a massive rug & 3 piece suite. I am an independent customer, my daughter used their services & made the recommendation, you should consider using them, I would give them AAA+++ (my top rating) John Glen (New Windsor)

We had lilies fall on our light beige carpet, leaving dark yellow stains from their pollen that wouldn't come off. We tried all sorts of remedies suggested online but nothing improved it. Then a bottle of dark red nail polish spilled on the carpet. After 45 minutes of work ApexClean had the stains gone and the areas looking as good as new!

I very much like Apex. Bobby did an excellent job of cleaning our rather marked and old (but still great) BnB Italia sofas and ottoman. The whole process from quote to job done was great. I liked too that he was very mindful of making sure everything in the home was protected when bringing the gear through. Definitely will use them again.

A 2 litre bottle of milk spilt out from a grocery bag in the back of my car, which as you can imagine did not take long to start smelling very bad. However the team at ApexClean had it looking and smelling fresh again in no time. Very professional and know what they're doing. Would definitely recommend :)

Carpet cleaning in Mount Albert — the usual questions

Residential cleans in Mount Albert start at $149, and you get your exact number online in about 90 seconds. The price depends on how many rooms, their size and how soiled they are — not on how long we are there. Nobody has to visit to quote you, and the number you see before you book is the number you pay. Two to four hours for most rooms with a cross-breeze and a bit of warmth. Central villas are often closed up and shaded, so a cross-breeze matters more here than heat does. We extract on the return stroke rather than leaving the water in the carpet, which is what sets dry time — the full explanation is here. If you need it sooner, assisted drying gets an afternoon clean dry by dinner.

Yes — Mount Albert is on our fastest-response run, inside our Central Auckland coverage. We work from a Henderson base, seven days, with standard scheduling out to about 30 km and appointment-based coverage to roughly 80 km for commercial and larger residential jobs. Mount Albert sits well inside that. Short notice is usually a yes rather than a maybe.

Yes, and it is the cheaper way to do it. Carpet, rugs, sofas, dining chairs and mattresses are all the same van and the same visit, so you pay one lot of overhead instead of booking three separate jobs. Larger baskets also earn a volume discount automatically in the quote tool — you do not have to ask for it.
